The nominees for this month’s award are:
Colette Cavanagh – Hibernian
Head Coach, Dean Gibson, said: “Colette’s contribution to the team this season has been fantastic.
“Her work rate and focus during the season has proved she is a player of stature within this league. We feel that Colette is more than worthy of this nomination.”
Lisa Robertson – Celtic
Head Coach, Fran Alonso, said: “Lisa has once again been a key part of the team during May, driving the team on to pick-up 22 out of a possible 24 points.
“Both in and out of possession she has been fantastic for the team, with her work rate and general contribution being unmatched. As well as contributing two goals over the month from her deeper lying midfield berth, she has also provided a number of crucial assists, both from open play and set pieces, most notably the winning goal in both the 2-1 victory over Rangers and the 1-0 win over Hibs – only 3 days apart.
“Unsurprisingly, Lisa has picked up several Player of the Match awards in the process and her month was rightly topped off with a second call up for the National team.”
Michaela McAlonie – Spartans
Head Coach, Debbi McCulloch, said: “Michaela has been a key part of Spartans midfield during the month of May with two goals and three assists.
“Michaela’s energy is outstanding with her distribution, whether it’s short or long balls, creating many threatening attacks over the past few weeks. She is a consistent figure within our squad and someone who continues to work hard to be the best she can be.
“In my opinion, Michaela thoroughly deserves to see her performances rewarded with this nomination. Her enthusiasm, technical ability and hard work means Michaela is growing in confidence which has a positive impact on our team and performances.”
Priscila Chinchilla – Glasgow City
Head Coach, Scott Booth, said: “Priscila has been fantastic since arriving from Costa Rica. She is a young player who has had a lot to deal with on and off the park but her strength of character comes through in her play.
“I think everyone who follows the Scottish women’s game now knows who Priscila Chinchilla is! She would be very deserving of the Player of the Month accolade for May.”
