Scottish Women's Premier League

Getting to know… Lisa Swanson

March 19th 2020

With no football for an indefinite period and the country being encouraged to take part in social distancing, we thought we’d take this opportunity to get to know some of the Scottish Building Society SWPL players more.

In our own way of encouraging people to follow the medical advice of the NHS and the Government, we’ve asked some relevant questions of the players that will hopefully give you some inspiration for staying indoors:

Name: Lisa Swanson

Club: Heart of Midlothian WFC

Position: Forward

Favourite SWPL memory: Has to be one from my time at Rangers. Both Celtic and Rangers’ women’s teams had recently started and we beat Celtic in the cup semi-final. The game went to extra time and Scott Allison was the manager at the time, he kept me on till the end so I could score the winner!

Toughest SWPL opponent: When I used to play in centre midfield, the toughest player I went up against was Sue Lappin. Glasgow City are a tough team to go up against.

Favourite Movie: I don’t have a favourite movie but I pretty much like all comedies.

Favourite TV show: Has to be Still Game

Favourite homemade meal: Lasagne

Favourite chocolate or biscuit: Diary Milk

Favourite book or one you’d recommended: The Secret

Favourite board game: Monopoly

Favourite video game: FIFA! I used to play a lot when I was younger.

Favourite album: Oasis – Definitely Maybe

The song you sing to wash your hands to: Tina Turner – Simply the Best!
